First and foremost, The Journey Online Community is called The City. We are a church for the city, one that is actually a city within the city. This name will be a continual reminder to be a vital part of the city that God is building, right here within our city.

So what is it? An online community is a place that allows people to get better connected. How? Users can join groups organized by interest, need, location, etc. to connect with other people. You may then use group communication tools, such as group discussions, mass emails, calendar sharing, etc. to interact with other people.

Members can add friends and send them messages, and update their personal profile to tell friends about themselves. You can also use The City to find a place to use your gifts by looking at our volunteer positions. At the same time, leaders can search for you if your profile fits a volunteer need.

Finally, The City is also a valuable tool for administrative support at The Journey. We will be able to keep accurate and more detailed records on members, non-members, regular attendees, etc. Most correspondence from The Journey will be sent using The City. This includes all giving reports, which will be available on The City.
