Doctrine

We believe God has given us a mission to Love God, Connect People and Transform the World. That mission is rooted in who we believe God has revealed himself to be. The term “doctrine” may not be a popular topic these days, as it can sound narrow or non-inclusive, but it simply means a belief or system of beliefs accepted as authoritative. Our doctrine is the beliefs that inform our practice. Our doctrine is the root, and the ministry that we do is the fruit. The truth is all people have some sort of doctrine, a set of beliefs that determines the way they live. So to help you understand what grounds our church we have compiled our core beliefs here in two different versions. The brief version reads more like bullet points, and the narrative version reads like a story.

The Scriptures | We believe the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments to be the verbally inspired word of God, the final authority for faith and life, inerrant in the original writings, infallible and Godbreathed. (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21; Matthew 5:18; John 16:12-13) The God head | God, eternally existing in three persons-Father, Son, and Holy Spirit-coeternal in being, co-eternal in nature, co-equal in power and glory, having the same attributes and perfections.
The Bible, consisting of the Old and New Testaments, God’s inerrant, infallible word given to humanity reveals his truth (John 17:17), his heart (John 3:16), and his purpose to the world (Psalm 46:10). There is no other literature like the Bible, no other writing that contains the revelation of God to man. It alone guides us in our daily living (Psalm 119:130) and is useful for teaching and training and correcting us. It alone is what we must measure all claims of truth against.
