Brandon Addison

Before coming to the Journey, Brandon worked in a leadership development organization for the federal government. He is a recovering experience junkie who was a former whitewater river guide, college mascot, and certified alligator wrestler. Brandon now spends his time serving on a pastoral team at the Journey and finishing his graduate degree. At the Journey, Brandon makes sure that our Hanley Road campus community is active and healthy. It’s active by creating space for people to meet each other, be known through small groups, and be changed by the teachings of the Bible. It’s healthy by not being “holy huddles” or cliques of like-minded people. Rather, these groups exist to be a real blessing to the greater community. Brandon gets jacked by seeing the church embody the teachings of Jesus and care for the life of our world. He believes that the world is something that God desires to renew and the mission of the church is to play a part.

Brandon and his wife Amy are constantly mesmerized by the centrality of the Gospel. They are excited to serve in a church where the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus is the source of life and community change. Both of them love being outside and would trade a night in bed for a tent near a river or mountains any evening. (Well, Brandon would; Amy has a little more sense.) When not trekking outside, Brandon is reading books by dead guys for his graduate degree. Ask them about their inter-house college football rivalry, their love for sweet tea and good BBQ, and their hunger to see people pursue a mission greater than themselves.
