Music is the universal language of the human soul. We use music and poetry to express our deepest longings and desires. Music connects our heads with our hearts. It gives full expression to our experiences. Good songs help us to remember who we are and what we believe. They also shape us. Music helps us to articulate who we want to be – and how to move towards that.
That’s where Colossians 3:16-17 is very helpful. Corporate worship music should be Christ-centered. It should be saturated with the Bible. Music should teach us how to live godly/wise lives in “everything” that we do/experience. It should express and promote heartfelt thankfulness towards God. And lastly, there are different kinds of songs (musical styles) that God enjoys – psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs.
God likes different kinds of music and we can too.
Here is the basic break-down of the styles across our campuses:
Folk-Americana | Hanley Road & Metro East

Modern-Pop | West County & Tower Grove Saturday

Eclectic | Tower Grove Sunday
Rock, blues, folk, acoustic, etc. Reflective and celebratory with an emphasis on hymns. Instrumental range from stripped-down acoustic to full band.
Urban-Gospel | The Luminary at Tower Grove
