Journey Outdoors: Coed Volleyball
The Journey Outdoors recreational coed volleyball team is full!
The Luminary | Center for the Arts is a not-for-profit, artist-run space that engages emerging artists, our local community, and other like-minded organizations through a diverse offering of events, services, and programming. The Center seeks to provide artists both space and materials to use at no cost to the artist. The Luminary merges the ideas of art and service, providing space to artists in exchange for bartered projects, opening our space for free use to the public and bringing the community into direct contact with the diverse landscape of contemporary art.
Below is a brief summary of open studio, current projects, needs and upcoming art exhibits. For more information, visit The Luminary Website.
Open Studio
The Luminary's primary identity is as a free studio for artists in which to come work. We have some materials to work with, but contact us for more details regarding what you would need to provide for yourself. We are open on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Saturday from 11am-9pm weekly. Contact us for more information on specific times and available space .
Current Projects
Blank Canvas Art Program: A transitional art program designed to teach homeless youths the basic skills of painting.
The Luminary Studios: Private studios rented on a month to month basis to emerging artists who are able to barter for the space as a way to form community and further their careers as artists.
Salons: A series of medium-specific times of feedback, learning, and connection with artists working in similar fields. The Salons meet at set times weekly so that consistent groups are able to establish connections with one another's art. During the Salon times, anyone working or simply interested in the medium are invited to come and connect with other artists in order to receive one-on-one instruction, give and receive feedback on one's work, and to share knowledge and resources with artists in similar fields.
The Luminary Library: We will be housing a library of art and literature that will be primarily for research and study, but is open to the public in our Writer's Lounge.
