We need more help with childcare for the Cougar Village Women’s Bible Study. We have a few kids coming with special needs who require one on one attention. We also need people to help with general activities and clean up afterwards. Childcare volunteers serve at the FRC from 6:15-7:45PM on Thursdays.

Important Notice: Metro East services will be cancelled this Sunday, February 7!. We encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity to find or host a party in your neighborhood and get to know your neighbors.
Interested in becoming a member? The Gospel Class is a five-week course on the basic doctrine of our church and the beginning of the process to become a member of The Journey. The class will begin the week of February 21st, 2010. Registration begins February 7 and close on February 15 or when classes are full.

We are especially looking for Godly men who would like to mentor young men in the community and spend time with them doing activities like fishing and playing football during the Bible Study.

Our Metro East campus will be offering a nine-week EQUIP Class starting Wednesday, January 27 at Newsong for anyone interested in plugging into community. The focus will be on living a Gospel-centered missional life. Sign up at the Resource Table to participate or email infoME@journeyon.net for more info.

The Cougar Village Women’s Bible Study is coming up in SIUE Family Housing, beginning Thursday, February 4th! We are in need of volunteers to hang out with the kids while moms attend the Bible Study. We are especially looking for Godly men who would like to mentor young men in the community and spend time with them doing activities like fishing and playing football during the Bible Study.
If you are currently serving in Journey Kids, or would like to learn more about serving in Journey Kids, please plan to attend one of two training sessions offered in January. The training is mandatory for all current Journey Kids volunteers. Sessions will be held on January 17 and 24 at Newsong from 4:00 – 5:30 PM. The Journey: Metro East will NOT be meeting at Newsong Fellowship on the evening of Dec. 13 due to a scheduling conflict. Instead, we will be meeting at Leclaire Christian Church on the corner of Esic and Governor’s Parkway in Edwardsville. We will still be meeting at 6:00pm and all of our Journey Kids classes will run as usual. If you have any questions, please contact Vince (vbissey@journeyon.net).
