Women's Ministry

The purpose of women's ministry is to exist inside The Journey community in order to equip women to love God, connect with one another, and transform the world.

The women's ministry will seek to help women fully participate as a member of the body of Christ and fulfill The Journey's mission by focusing on spiritual formation, mentoring, community building, retreats, and service.

Upcoming Events

Single Women's Forum
Ever believed as a single woman your choices in the area of sex were more horrible than everyone else? Ever felt honoring Him in this area was hopeless, so frankly you've quit trying? Or ever felt isolated and perhaps even a little ‘abnormal' in your decision to make wise choices in this area? Whether you'd consider your past (or present) ‘scandalous', squeaky clean, or somewhere in between when it comes to sex, join the single women of the Journey at 7:00 on November 7th at the Tower Grove Campus. We'll be discussing in a very real way how every one of us needs to apply the gospel to this area of our lives. Click here to RSVP.

Spiritual Formation

We seek to help The Journey women gain practical wisdom for life and fulfill the value of truth. Opportunities will be offered through forums as well as various spiritual growth groups such as Bible studies and book groups. We want to follow God holistically, with our lives becoming integrated with the ways of Jesus. Spiritual formation events and groups will help women face issues that are specific to their life stage (i.e. mothering, singleness, facing divorce, infertility, etc).

Women's Mentoring

God has not designed us to walk through life alone, but rather to do so in relationships and in authentic community. One way we can live life in community is by participating in a mentoring relationship. This is where a woman who is a little ahead of you and has walked through some of the situations you currently face meets with you one-on-one to provide council, community, and accountability. Community Building Team

God has created women to live in community with one another. In order to promote authentic relationships we will offer events to build community as well as groups where individuals can share life together.

Retreat Team

Woman often keep their schedules so full that we find it difficult to connect with God and other people. This busyness makes it is necessary to retreat. Retreat is an intentional withdrawal for emotional, spiritual, and physical renewal. We will regularly provide The Journey women a time to retreat together to experience worship, biblical teaching, community, and times of solitude.

Service Team

As women, God has created us with unique talents and the Holy Spirit has given those who follow Christ spiritual gifts. We want to create opportunities to help The Journey women use their gifts to serve the body as well as be on mission in the community. The women's ministry does not seek to separate itself from the rest of the body, rather we want to provide and promote opportunities for The Journey women to find ways to plug in and serve with Mission St. Louis.
