Connect with one another

In our hectic and splintered world, people often feel alone and disconnected from one another. We believe a New Testament church not only proclaims the Gospel, but also provides community for disconnected people. Therefore we invest time, money, and energy in developing deepening relationships with one another through small groups, social activities, and ministries carried out in teams. We believe that because of the power of the Gospel, people can connect across racial, educational, cultural, and generational lines to experience genuine biblical community.

Here at The Journey, we hold community as one of our core values. God exists in eternal community and has designed us to enjoy and live life in community with others. In a world that pushes us toward isolation, we realize one of our greatest needs is community. We need a place where we can know and be known, love and be loved, and serve and be served. The Men’s Ministry of Hanley Road is dedicated to turning our men into the leaders of God’s Church, and therefore the leaders of spiritual and missional renewal in the Saint Louis Area. To these ends, we seek to make our men into: the servant-leaders of our church and the community lifelong students of the Bible who seek to expand their knowledge of God and their understanding of sound theology.
Here at The Journey, we believe that the university is a vital component of life. Through the Hanley Road Campus, we desire college students to learn what the Bible teaches and put it into practice within our everyday lives. Both correct teaching and living are important. This means that the Gospel must not only be grasped, but also embodied as we interact with others, study on campus, and pursue our passions. Equip Classes The Journey offers three classes to equip people on their spiritual journey. Our Gospel Class, which is our pathway to membership, is currently in session. We will update this page when our next session starts.
Midrash is a Hebrew term referring to commentary or discussion on spirital matters. Midrash at The Journey creates open spaces for giving and receiving commentary on important matters in our local and national culture. Midrash in action includes highly animated and caffeideepenated conversations at local coffeeshops on todays hot topics, and the now-famous Theology at the Bottleworks, which attracts a crowd diverse in almost every way to discuss the thorniest and deepest issues of our times...
The Journey partners with The Karis House Community Counseling Center located at the Tower Grove campus to provide various care and counseling services. Karis House exists to serve south St. Louis city by providing affordable, Gospel-centered counseling and restoration to clients in their relationships with God, with family and friends, and with self. We have a Connect Group starting on Tuesday, March 2, 2010! A Hanley Road Connect Group is a welcoming community for people who are new to The Journey or have missed Community Group sign ups. They gather in a home weekly for the purpose of meeting new people, finding out more about The Journey, discussing the previous week sermon, and having fun and food!
