  • Tuesday Night is Family Night

Tuesday night is my favorite night of the week. It is a family gathering, though not the kind you may be thinking of.

  • Why Community?

I was talking to some girls the other night about the weirdness of friendships as an adult.   Before "growing up" it was easy to make and maintain friendships because we had a place (school) where we were able to make friends naturally.

  • Theology at the Bottleworks

THEOLOGY AT THE BOTTLEWORKS:  One of The Journey's  cultural engagement ministries and a place where "the best conversations in town" happen!

We invite you to join us this month as we discuss the topic "Gun Control In America", what role should guns have in American life, what rules might be helpful?

  • Brown Bag Lunch Series - Empowering the Church on Mission

In last weekend's message on 1&2 Timothy and Titus, Pastor Darrin mentioned the contemporary reality of the Clergy-Laity divide and the implications of breaking through that barrier and releasing the Church to be on mission.

We have a strategic opportunity to continue that conversation with a leading author and renowned innovator in missional thinking on Tuesday, August 17 from Noon to 1 PM.

  • Giving Online at The Journey

    Dear friends of The Journey,

God has been very gracious to us as individuals and as a church. He is a generous God and in response to that we wanted to thank you for responding to that generosity by doing the same with what you have been given. The financial sacrifices that you each make are allowing us to see Jesus continue to do what he wants to do in our families, cities and world.

  • Theology at the Bottleworks

THEOLOGY AT THE BOTTLEWORKS starts good conversations on issues that matter between people inside AND outside of Christianity.

  • Acts 29 Midwest Quarterly

Author, strategic thinker and movement leader, Alan Hirsch will be speaking at our next Acts29 Midwest Region Quarterly, Tuesday, August 17, 2010. Alan brings a wealth of insight and experience as a global leader and movement shaper calling the Church back to its roots as a Community on Mission.

  • St. Louis Family Camp

This summer the Journey will be attending St. Louis Family Camp. The dates are July 16-19 and will be located at the Lake of the Ozarks at the Windermere Conference Center. This is going to be a time that families can spend with each other and learn great principles about having a Christ-centered family, all while stealing a little family bonding time on the lake!

  • Worship Night - Joy in Christ

"Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:4-7

"You HAVE to listen to this song."

With those words, my friend put a cd into my car stereo and out came an instant favorite. It was a song called "And" by a band called Waterdeep. That was 1997, and I've been listening to them ever since.
