Metro East Weekly Update 1/31/10

This Week

January 31 – February 6, 2010

Announcements

Important Notice: Metro East services will be cancelled this Sunday, February 7. We encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity to find or host a party in your neighborhood and get to know your neighbors.

The Cougar Village Women’s Bible Study starts this Thurs, Feb 4! We are in need of volunteers to hang out with the kids while moms attend the Bible Study. We are especially looking for Godly men who would like to mentor young men in the community and spend time with them doing activities like fishing and playing football during the Bible Study. If you are interested or would like more information on how you can help, please contact Jesse at jesse.korns@missionstl.org.

Interested in becoming a member? The Gospel Class is a five-week course on the basic doctrine of our church and the beginning of the process to become a member of The Journey. The class will begin the week of February 21st, 2010. Registration begins February 7 and close on February 15 or when classes are full. Stay tuned for more details.

Current members, as part of the Engage movement, we will soon begin a process of asking every current Journey member to re-up their membership commitment. Stay tuned for more information to come soon. If you are unsure of your current membership status, please contact your campus administrator at infoME@journeyon.net.

Join The Journey as we engage and respond to the Haiti Quake as a church family. For more details please click here.

Healing Communities at Karis House are starting up again. A Healing Community is a place where it is acceptable to be broken, have problems, admit failure, and where help is expressed in concrete, practical ways. The mission of these groups is to help hurting people heal through Gospel-centered community. The groups for this semester include topics dealing with sexual identity, relationships and intimacy, eating and body image issues and coping with grief. Click here for more details and to register.

Did you miss out on starting the plan to read the Bible? It is not too late! You can find the Engage Scripture Bible Reading Plan and many other resources at journeyon.net/engage. Check it out today!
