Questions
What is your favorite bible verse?
I don't think I could ever narrow it down to just one, but my favorite passage is definitely Psalm 139. I love it because it never ceases to blow my mind when I read of God's love for me. That He never leaves me, the detail and thought He put into me before the beginning of time, His goodness, power, and presence!
What is following Jesus like these days?
A daily learning experience. Sometimes hard and painful (when I start to shift my eyes off Him and become caught up in day-to-day details and other things I place too much trust/time into), and sometimes fantastic and joyful (when I allow the Spirit to guide me and remind myself each day is the Lord's, and by His strength and mercy, and remember His goodness, love and purpose in and for me).
How long have you been at The Journey?
Since Oct 06' (2 months after I moved to St Louis). And have been working here since Sept 08'.
What ministry are you involved in?
I'm on staff as the Communications Administrator in Central Support, and part time West County Campus Admin.
Favorites
Bands: Music is a huge part of my life and I could easily list 100 bands that I consider my favorite bands, but those that make my top 2 hands down are: Depeche Mode and Muse.
Areas of town to hang: The Delmar Loop. I adore it. I love the fact that it represents so many different kinds of people and cultures. I like the bubble of activity that's always going on and the diversity of shops and entertainment. And during the summer I love that just about every restaurant you can sit outside (I love, love being outdoors).
Recreation: I just discovered ultimate frisbee this past summer! And I'm fully addicted! It's just plain awesome.
So, Tell Me...
What band would you most want to have backstage passes for? Depeche Mode (or Muse) :)
What things can you remember being invented in your life which people today take for granted? The iPod, laptops, internet access on your phone
Other than the present, which historical era would you like to have lived in? Does the 60's/70's count? I would have totally been a hippie. Otherwise, the 1800's on the plains in America - as long as I could have been born into a Sioux Indian tribe :)
