I graduated in 2007 with my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from Hannibal-La Grange College. Since then, I have been pursuing my Master's in Education at University of Missouri-Saint Louis.
Family
I have a wonderful mother, Pam, who took on the responsibility of raising my brother and I from a very young age. She is goofy, smart and quite the achiever. I also have an older brother, Darren, who knows a lot about cars and likes to challenge me in my thinking. We are the typical brother/sister combo...he can pick on me, but if anyone else does, he won't have it.

What is your favorite bible verse?
"Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you! See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands;your walls are ever before me." - Isaiah 49:15-16 "I made my vow to you and entered into a covenant with you, declares the Lord God and you became mine."- Ezekiel 16:8"
What is following Jesus like these days?
Following Jesus for me is like a box of chocolates...Oh wait. In truth, Following Jesus is a daily submission to his authority in my life. Waking up in the morning and deciding and trusting that God has got me. I believe that he loves me more today than I did yesterday, which is a reflection of how he is growing me to really believe and live the Gospel.
How long have you been at The Journey?
I have been attending The Journey for 3 years.
What ministry are you involved in?
I serve The Journey in our children's ministry, Journey Kids. I work as the Director of Journey Kids at our Hanley Road Campus.
What is hard and/or good about serving at The Journey?
The best thing about serving at The Journey is getting to work with and serve with some wonderfully gifted people. From the other staff members and elders to the children, we are blessed to have a unique gathering of authentic people who desire to know and love God. I enjoy getting to know our families at Journey Kids and being trusted by God and their parents to educate them about the Gospel and Jesus.

My favorite sport is baseball and coincidentally my favorite team is the Cardinals, without a doubt...but if we have to pay Holliday that much money, the least he can do is hit some homeruns. Just sayin'
I love to read anything by C.S. Lewis. I absolutely love seeing musical theater. I love coffee and coffee shops. Finally, I confess, I love to shop and I secretly love getting new shampoo and make-up, something about it being fresh,new and different. (i guess it's not such a secret anymore).

What is your most memorable travel experience? Probably driving to Arizona from Saint Louis listening to show tunes with my friend Alyssa. She was moving there after we graduated from college and I decided to road-trip it with her. When we got to New Mexico, I pulled over because the sky seemed different. When we got out, it was pitch black outside but the stars were so vivid. I had never seen so many stars in my life. I love those experiences when you are so easily reminded of God's grandness.
